Stephen Michael Self, Vice President, Partner Relations, EGIAStephen's primary focus at EGIA is on building and sustaining mutually rewarding and successful relationships with contractors, manufacturers, distributors and industry organizations. Stephen is responsible for developing partnering strategy and executing joint marketing plans that enhance delivery of energy efficient products and services into the marketplace. Stephen is also Director of EGIA's Leadership Academy partnering with national training institutions, utilities, government and affiliated organizations to deliver webinars, business mentoring and operational training for contractor business development and business management activities.

Prior to joining EGIA, Stephen started and ran a home performance contracting business, Sustainable Interiors, based in Boulder, Colorado providing energy-efficient options and sustainable building products for remodeling and renovating existing buildings. As a General Contractor, RESNET HERS Rater, and BPI Building Analyst, Stephen successfully integrated and focused on energy-efficiency and improved indoor-air-quality. Also, formerly state chair, Efficiency First Colorado.

Jared Asch, Executive Director, Efficiency FirstFor more than a decade, Jared Asch has been an entrepreneur, organizer, political adviser and fundraiser dedicated to community responsibility, innovative marketing and business development programs, and progressive environmental and energy policy at the local, state and national levels. Jared has served as a policy consultant for presidential candidates, U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives and many Florida legislators, and has prepared grants on behalf of nonprofits and municipalities targeting the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and nearly a dozen state agencies. He has appeared as a lecturer with Green Tech Academy, a nonprofit organization providing professionals with expertise in clean technology, and he teaches a course entitled "Politics of Going Green" in the Sustainability and Energy Management program at the University California-Berkeley. Additionally, Jared has earned LEED® AP certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and has hands-on experience in green construction, home retrofitting and residential solar installation. He has a master's degree in public administration from American University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Florida State University.

Doug Donovan, CEO, Interplay EnergyDoug's background includes directing the Residential Division of Greener Dawn, Inc. where he developed the Building Performance Institute (BPI) training program for energy efficiency contractors and provided other residential energy efficiency consultative services. Prior to joining Greener Dawn, Doug ran a home energy efficiency product company, Jumpstart to Green, LLC.

Doug's professional past includes launching two start-up companies and providing equity research at the investment bank, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (now CSFB). Doug is currently an active partner at Echo Mountain, a Colorado ski resort which he developed and managed.

Doug is on the Board of Directors of Efficiency First, the residential energy efficiency's leading association. He holds a BA from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Ed Thomas

Ed Thomas, Vice President, Utility and Government RelationsEd produces Home Energy Makeover Contests. Ed is Secretary of the non-profit Utility Energy Forum, Inc., serves on the Board of the Home Performance Resource Center, and is Chair of the Marketing Best Practices Committee for Efficiency First. Ed has also served as Manager of Intermountain Energy, a subsidiary of the Delta-Montrose Electric Association cooperative that installed geothermal heat pumps.

Dan Thomsen, President & Founder, The Building DoctorsDan Thomsen is the President and founder of the Building Doctors, a home performance contracting company that does comprehensive home energy audits and energy efficiency upgrades. The Building Doctors has both a General and Heating and Air Conditioning contractor licenses and is a Building Performance Institute (BPI) accredited company.

Dan received a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University and a Master of Science from North Carolina State University. He is a Building Performance Institute certified Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, a BPI proctor for both certifications, certified though California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services (CHEERS) as an existing home rater, a member, instructor and verified contractor with the California Building Performance Contractors Association, a verified contractor with the Home Performance with Energy Star Program, verified contactor with the Energy Upgrade California program and a founding member and on the Board of Directors of Efficiency First, the National non-profit trade association for the home performance workforce, where he is the National membership chair, on the marketing committee and the Southern California Chapter Chair.
