Offering homeowners even more energy efficiency options, the City of Palo Alto Utilities (CPAU), has partnered with the Electric & Gas Industries Association (EGIA).
Qualifying residential customers can now have either a direct cash-back rebate from CPAU for qualifying energy efficiency improvements or choose an interest-free loan for up to twelve months when they upgrade their space and/or water heating appliances.
The financing option is available exclusively to participating homeowners in Palo Alto from the GEOSmart Financing Program through Authorized Contractors. GEOSmart has identified leading companies in the home improvement industry, verified their capabilities and provided customers with a powerful tool when searching for a contractor. To participate in the GEOSmart Program, contractors must satisfactorily pass a rigid screening and review process including:
- Verification of a valid contractor license
- Trade reference check
- Verification of solid business financials, and
- Be approved to offer utility-sponsored financing
EGIA is a not-for-profit trade organization that works directly with utilities, manufacturers, distributors and contractors to advance energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions nationwide.
